Fundraiser - Governor Christine Gregoire Campaign

The Washington state campaign of Governor Christine Gregoire is looking
for a an experienced fundraiser to join the campaign team. Governor
Gregoire won election in 2004 after several recounts and finally won by
just 133 votes. This campaign promises to be one of the most heavily
contested Gubernatorial races in the 2008 cycle.

We are looking to find an experienced fundraiser to be part of a team
responsible for raising money to help re-elect Governor Gregoire. The
position will help manage fundraising events, both large and small and
should be comfortable on the phone. You will be working within a team
of great fundraisers and you should be available to start right away.

Job Responsibilities:

supervision is also a plus. Applicants must have a car or regular

office. Specific issue-knowledge is not necessary, although

Field Organizer - Maine Democratic Party

Canvass Director - San Diego City Race

San Diego City race seeks a well-organized and experienced Canvass
Director to run an ID, Persuasion, and GOTV canvass for the June 3rd
Primary. The Canvass Director is responsible for recruiting, hiring,
training, retaining, and conducting quality control on a group of up
to 12 canvassers. Possibility of job continuing through November
General Election.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Canvass director must walk with the canvassers on a regular basis to
ensure quality and provide in the field training.
• Recruit canvassers to meet goals by posting flyers high schools and
local colleges and other public places. Continuous recruitment is
critical.
• Interview all applicants and hire those most likely to succeed based
on speaking ability, appearance, and judgment.
• Conduct daily training for all canvassers regarding the script,
persuasion, and follow through. Make sure each person can deliver the
script conversationally before letting the go out in the field.
• Work with canvassers individually to make sure they are reading the
whole script and asking the voter to take action at all possible
opportunities.
• Divide up canvass team to send appropriate language speakers to the
correct neighborhoods.
• Assemble all precinct packets and maps before canvass shifts and
scan in data after canvassers have gone home.
• Send detailed daily reports to field director and client of each
day’s canvass.
• Track canvasser performance and follow up with voters they have
spoken with to ensure the quality and accuracy of contacts.
• Track all canvassers’ hours and pay rates and issue payroll every
two weeks.
• Be able to adjust training program to overcome obstacles and make
sure the canvass remains on goal.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 4 years of field or relevant experience on a campaign.
• Has executed successful paid canvasses in the past.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Be dynamic with people and have great training skills
• Must manage time efficiently, have excellent organizational skills,
pay attention to detail and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong oral and written communications ability.
• Ability to work long hours.
• Must have a car and car insurance.
• Must be willing to work sometimes long and irregular hours and to
travel.
• Bilingual Spanish Speaker preferred but not a must
• Familiarity with San Diego geography and politics also a plus
