We are seeking an individual who will work in close coordination with the Director of Field Response. The qualified candidate will help plan, develop and implement strategies to carry out the HSUS Disaster Services field rescue program. The candidate will develop and maintain operational contacts with relevant individuals and organizations throughout the country with particular emphasis on field rescue. Additionally, the individual will respond to disasters/emergencies and conduct damage assessment of impacted areas, monitor disaster/emergency activity and potential developments and present training programs throughout the country, as assigned. The candidate must have at least a high school degree, animal handling skills and knowledge of animal protection issues, animal control, shelter experience and have experience in some form of emergency operations or response. Strong organizational skills, strong oral and written communications skills and public speaking skills are required. The candidate must be able to work independently and be willing to travel extensively. Salary starting in mid $30K plus awards winning benefits package.
