Online Communications Manager - Leadership Conference on Civil Rights
The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights is the leading coalition of organizations committed to civil rights in the U.S., and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund is the major research and education organization supporting civil rights organizations.
Description
Primary responsibilities include the management, development and maintenance of LCCR/LCCREF’s primary and secondary websites, email marketing efforts and online outreach efforts. The employee in this position will report to the Director of Communications .
Skills and Qualifications
The job requires a commitment to civil rights; good interpersonal skills; and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks. Minimum requirements are 3 years experience with online communications, ideally with an advocacy or non-profit organization or related experience; and proficiency in Microsoft applications, database systems, and Internet research. Familiarity with social networking technology, audio and video editing desirable. Good written and verbal skills; desire and ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to manage a complex workload; ability to organize time efficiently; and a high level of personal energy and commitment are also requirements of the job.
This is a mid-level position at the center of the organizations’ major work. The employee will have the opportunity to play a role in advancing civil rights and social justice policy for the nation. S/he will also be exposed to the most broad-based civil rights coalition in the country, and to participatory democracy at its best.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and improve civilrights.org, the web site of the LCCR/LCCREF and associated campaign sites
Lead interdepartmental web team to raise money online, recruit activists, influence Congress, and build relationships with site visitors
Manage outside consultants and vendors as needed
Research, write and edit original content for civilrights.org.
Conduct outreach and marketing to coalition members and social justice community at large
Manage online creation and dissemination of newsletters, press releases, and other LCCR/LCCREF communications
Analyze web statistics to evaluate campaigns and to maximize online traffic and engagement
Salary and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience.
