Web Editor/Marketer - Greenpeace/The Big Switch (Sydney, Australia)
Closing Date: June 18, 2007
Interactive website management skills? Passionate about clean energy solutions to dangerous climate change? Here’s an opportunity to get involved in a new alliance of organisations working together to empower Australians to determine the future direction Australia takes on addressing climate change.
Climate change is shaping up to be the definitive issue in the upcoming federal election – and for good reason, Australia stands to lose economically, socially, and environmentally if we don’t take swift action to tackle climate change and protect our quality of life. The Big Switch is the largest community climate change campaign ever to hit Australia. It involves an innovative new website combined with an on-the-ground community campaign being rolled out across the country, to entice hundreds of thousands of Australians to get active on tackling climate change.
The overall role of the Web Editor/Marketer is to work within a small team to lead the online aspect of an integrated online and community-based campaign strategy. You will be developing and implementing online campaigns to inspire large numbers of the public to support The Big Switch and to actively participate in campaigns. Additionally, you will be managing the engagement with supporters to draw them along personalised engagement pathways and promoting The Big Switch site via banners, Google adwords and social media.
To apply for this position you must have demonstrated experience in writing and editing for the web, knowledge and experience of online marketing including email marketing and online communities, experience in managing an interactive website and strong organisational skills. You will also need a passion for action on climate change and the ability to work as part of a team.
As well as the opportunity to make a difference to this crucial issue, Greenpeace Australia Pacific offers employees a supportive working environment and real commitment to work/life balance.
This is a full-time eight-month term position based in Sydney. Applications close 18th June 2007 and must address the selection criteria in the job description.
