Website Assistant (Part Time) - The Drug Policy Alliance
The Drug Policy Alliance, the nation’s leading organization working to end the war on drugs and promote new drug policies based on science, compassion, health and human rights, seeks a part-time website assistant in the Internet Communications Department, located in Washington, DC. The candidate will work closely with the web team to maintain and promote constituent relations, manage our engagement database, answer supporter inquiries, promote DPA’s presence on social networking websites, and provide content for and management of our discussion board and blog. Students and others with strong writing skills and an interest in entering the field of non-profit advocacy are particularly encouraged to apply.
Position Description:
Position: Part-time Website Assistant
Location: Washington, DC
Reports to: Director, Internet Communications
Compensation: $12 per hour, 20 hours a week
Responsibilities include:
Adding, editing and maintaining constituent records in the online engagement database
Responding to supporter inquiries
Maintaining DPA’s presence on MySpace, Facebook and other social networking websites
Overseeing and providing content for our discussion board and blog
Required Skills:
Familiarity with and interest in drug policy reform
Excellent email and phone communications skills
Excellent writing and research abilities
Command of standard office applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word, and web tools such as content management systems and web browsers
Detail oriented
Self Starter
