Communications Coordinator - National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s® (NCMEC) was established in 1984 as a private , nonprofit 501(c )(3) organization with a mission to help prevent child abduction and sexual exploitation; help find missing children; and assist victims of child abduction and sexual exploitation, their families, and the professionals who serve them. Position is responsible for planning, and executing special events, press conferences, handling media requests including helping to shape articles/segments based on NCMEC communications goals, assisting with public awareness campaigns, and other public relations activities. Position is also responsible for external communications materials including but not limited to narratives, and statistics. Answer telephone calls and respond to media requests. Communicate with members of the media to develop or shape stories and segments based on Communications goals. Draft and prepare press materials, packets and other media-related materials based on issue. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline with a minimum of four (4) years of previous related experience. The incumbent must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment be a team player possess, excellent organizational skills, interpersonal, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and have strong writing and oral communication skills, and attention to detail NCMEC offers a competitive salary and generous benefits.
