Active and progressive New Jersey Democrat seeks an aggressive communications director with a proven record of media relations and constituent outreach. Strong written and oral communications skills and excellent political instincts are essential. Capitol Hill experience and familiarity with New Jersey media markets and new media technologies are preferred. Responsibilities include fielding press calls and pitching events, writing releases, op-eds, and statements, and writing franked mail pieces and a weekly electronic newsletter. Must have a good sense of humor and the ability to understand quickly district and legislative issues and to multi-task in a fast-paced atmosphere.
