Progressive Democratic House Member (and subcommittee chair) from Southern California seeks a Communications Director responsible for implementing a comprehensive communications strategy at the local and national levels. This includes, but is not limited to writing press releases and opinion columns; maintaining relations with local and national press; overseeing and implementing the franked mass mail program; and managing the Member’s official website. A team work ethic and good sense of humor are required. Spanish language skills and familiarity with Hispanic media are a plus. Candidates should have experience in journalism, politics, public relations and/or advocacy work. Salary commensurate with experience.
