Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano (D-CA), Co-Chair of the Mental Health Caucus, seeks a Legislative Assistant to primarily handle healthcare, mental health, and veterans’ issues. Preferred candidates should have a background in mental health policy and a solid understanding of the legislative process. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing briefing memoranda, promoting and guiding legislative priorities of the Congressional Mental Health Caucus, drafting dear colleagues, tracking assigned issue areas in Congress, responding to constituent correspondence, and maintaining proactive working relationships with mental health advocacy groups. Ideal candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong work ethic, and an ability to perform well under pressure. Spanish language fluency is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
