Moderate, West Coast Democrat seeks senior legislative assistant or legislative director to handle primarily energy, natural resources and water development issues. Prospective candidates must have 3-5 years of substantive Hill experience, a thorough knowledge of the legislative and appropriations process, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a practical familiarity with western resource and environmental issues. Responsibilities include policy and legislative analysis, drafting committee and Floor statements, and writing op-eds. Candidates should have a sense of humor, enjoy policy and legislative problem-solving, and must work closely with colleagues and especially the Member. We are looking for someone who is creative, a quick-study, highly organized, enjoys multi-tasking and who can manage staff.
