Congressman Kendrick B. Meek is looking for a current Sophomore or Junior in college to join our team as a Press and New Media Intern until they graduate from school. As such, they will be working closely with the Chief of Staff, press secretary and Speaker Pelosi’s office on media work for the Congressman and Speaker Pelosi’s Thirty Something working group. Specific job responsibilities will include Internet outreach, editing and drafting press releases and monitoring of news and blogs for issues of concern to the office. The intern is expected to spend 2-3 days a week in the office and to do some work from home on the other days. The job requires a candidate to have knowledge of website design and upkeep, video editing software and good experience using facebook.
