Chief of Staff - Rep. Charles Wilson
Freshman Blue Dog Democrat seeks a chief of staff. The position will serve as the member’s main policy and political advisor and manage office finances and personnel. The CoS will supervise a staff of 17 located in five district offices and Washington, DC. This position requires excellent managerial skills, a comprehensive understanding of Congressional procedures and rules, an ability to delegate with grace and good humor, and the capacity to keep track of and follow-up on a wide variety of tasks. Previous experience as a chief of staff or senior staffer for a member of Congress or a senior aide to a U.S. Senator is required. Applicants must be willing to work long hours and in pressure situations. The member is a conservative Democrat from Appalachian Ohio, so interest and experience in rural issues, financial policy, coal and healthcare is a plus, as are ties to Ohio.
